Infor Key Strengths For Process Manufacturing
Since its inception, Infor has focused on understanding the unique nuances of the food, beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical and CPG companies which we serve. This attention to the details of their business has worked well for our customers in that the solutions they implement and the services they receive help them quickly achieve tangible results. Our focus on developing industry specific expertise allows us to provide unique capabilities that provide a higher return on investment and deliver performance driven improvements.
Corporately, this focus on understanding the unique nuances of the industries in which we serve is Infor's number one strength. This overarching "focus" can be seen throughout our organization, customers, services as well as our application Infor Process Manufacturing solutions.
Integrated Application Solutions
Each of Infors' products was designed to deliver optimum value to customers by providing distinctive capabilities that are focused on the unique nuances of their business. As a result, each product individually has numerous strengths for customers and together they provide a powerful, integrated solution. As an integrated solution, customers receive numerous benefits and assurances.
Single Source for Support
As customers make the important business decision to invest in a mission critical supply chain and/or ERP solution, they want to know that the company they are partnering with will support that implemented solution without interruption. Since Infor develops, implements and supports its core products itself, customers never have to worry about the product's support ending or the product languishing without improvement.
Designed to Work Together
Infor has invested considerably in making sure that as customers implement one or multiple Infor products, there is seamless data transfer between those products as well as to other enterprise applications (including competitive products). Our integration capabilities provide unsurpassed value to our customers. Through Integration Hub, customers can build a powerful integration system whereby all of their supply chain applications share a common integration point and can all share data.
Reduced Time to Implement
Because Infor ERP and Supply Chain Planning products are designed to work together, Infor has taken the headache out of product integration. Sure, implementing solutions from disparate solutions might still result in success--but at what cost and in what kind of time frame?
Advanced Capabilities
Through many years of experience working with customers who have implemented both our ERP and Supply Chain solutions, we have been able to deliver unique capabilities that help achieve value more quickly. These capabilities draw from the unique knowledge and data that each of the product possess. For instance, Advanced Firm Planned Orders allow the ERP system to distinguish between firm orders placed by a user vs. those placed by the planning system. Another would allow altered product formulas in the Advanced Planning or Advanced Scheduling solutions to override the designated formula set by ERP if a specific set of user defined criteria are met. These capabilities as well as numerous others are enhanced through seamless product integration between ERP and Supply Chain.
Advanced Scheduling
Tank Scheduling
Process manufacturers often have fixed capital assets, like tank farms, that require special scheduling consideration as a result of their operating characteristics, like how fast they can fill/empty or whether they have standing time requirements. Infor Advanced Scheduling specifically takes into account these as well as other tank behaviors and availability in creating optimized schedules.
"Coupled Processes"
Another nuance for process manufacturers is that many of their production resources are coupled. Resources like vats are often linked to mixers that are often linked to packaging lines though various pipes. This coupling means that you can't schedule one process without considering the linked upstream or downstream processes. A solution that doesn't understand these types of unique coupling requirements just can't handle the nuances of process manufacturing. Infor Advanced Scheduling can explicitly understand these requirements and ensure they are properly reflected in the published schedule.
Routing Constraints
In many process-manufacturing environments, there are limitations as to what processes can feed another process. For instance, centrifuge 1 can only be fed by storage tank 1 or 2, or the bottling line can only be fed by tank 1. Infor Advanced Scheduling allows customers to take these into consideration when creating their schedules.
