Enterprise Spyware:
Neutralizer Spyware
What is eSafe Spyware Neutralizer?
The Spyware Neutralizer is a clientless eSafe Gateway/Web/Mail add-on tool for Microsoft Network Administrators to remotely scan Windows enterprise spyware workstations on the network, identifying those infected with Spyware, and performing a quick (1-3 second) spyware neutralizing operation, killing running spyware applications and preventing spyware from loading when the PC is restarted.
How is Enterprise Spyware Performed?
The entire operation is performed by remotely accessing the infected machines over the network, without any client-side software installation and without the need to implement, manage, or update any client-side software or agents.
How Is Enterprise Spyware Neutralized?
The enterprise spyware neutralizer remotely inspects the Windows workstation?s registry, file system, and running processes against an extensive Spyware database. It will immediately identify running spyware, terminate the process, delete the spyware files and clean the registry from entries which initialize the spyware on each restart or login to Windows. The effect is neutralization of the enterprise spyware from the machine.
How Fast Is It Enterprise Spyware?
On average enterprise spyware takes 1-2 seconds to scan a workstation and 1-3 seconds to neutralize spyware, depending on the extent of the workstation's infection. The Neutralizer is a multi-threaded tool, so in practice it can inspect thousands of workstations per hour.
Is Enterprise Spyware A Desktop Solution Replacement?
Not necessarily. It is designed to complement eSafe Gateway without requiring a desktop installation across the organization. It is useful as a client less solution that will eliminate most Spyware threats from desktops, while eSafe Gateway would prevent future infections. It is also effective in many enterprise spyware situations:
- The machine is not installed with a desktop solution (some servers for example)
- An update was not performed for some reason
- Some users disable their desktop antivirus or anti-spyware
- There is a problem with the desktop solution Problems with the desktop antivirus (from any vendor) could temporarily disable it.
- Certain spyware applications were not detected by the desktop solution
- Other daily enterprise enterprise spyware scenarios
Spyware Neutralizer Installation
Neutralizer is very simple to install and manage on a Windows machine, with network/domain administrative rights. The machine used for this operation doesn?t need to be dedicated, but it is recommended that it not be a machine running intensive services. The only requirements for machines being inspected are that they run Windows 2000 or higher and have NetBIOS administrative share enabled (by default).
Enterprise Spyware Removal
The Spyware Neutralizer can perform inspection only or inspection and neutralization. The configuration itself is very simple. The administrator needs to define the network IP ranges and subnets to be inspected, define a schedule, and the desired operation.
