Cylance commissioned AV-TEST to perform an advanced threat prevention test of enterprise endpoint protection software. The testing methodology was jointly developed to provide additive testing to the commodity antivirus protection tests currently produced by AV-TEST. CylancePROTECT® was tested against five competitor endpoint products from Kaspersky, McAfee, Sophos, Symantec, and Trend Micro. The tests were performed in December 2016 and January 2017. This report contains the results of four test cases. The primary goal was to show the detection and prevention capabilities of new and unknown malicious executables. Read more in the AV-TEST report.
In some cases, adopting cloud IoT platform may make more sense where required processes, communication costs and cloud costs meet sufficient total cost of ownership against deploying MDC. Additionally, in situations that an end-user organization already has a secure room or a modular data center solution where infrastructure can be housed and/or the amount of infrastructure involved may be too small to benefit from power/cooling advantages of being housed in an MDC, the organization may not see a need for an MDC. An MDC is nothing more than a smaller form of a modular data center, and a number of providers have entered the modular data center solutions space in the past. These modular data center solution providers came into the market with high expectations for growth and ROI only to find that high sales were not forthcoming due to limited use cases, so many exited the space.

Customers expect more from brands when it comes to convenience, resolution times, and agent expertise. Evolving customer preferences are tightly linked to innovations in digital technology, and brands must embrace both in order to keep pace with heightened expectations. The good news is that brands that can deliver on expectations are rewarded with higher rates of customer retention and loyalty.
The Microsoft 2017 State of Global Customer Service survey polled 5,000 people from Brazil, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. We continue to find commonalities along with distinct differences between locals. And though people in all age groups are embracing new digital trends, millennials especially are shaping the way brands need to think about the future of customer service engagement.
Maintain visibility and control, regardless of device or OS. The consumerisation of enterprise information technology is one of the most significant security concerns today. Gartner's Analyst Ken Delaney explains the impact of consumerisation on enterprise IT.

Microservices architecture is a new architectural style for creating loosely coupled but autonomous services. Emerging trends in technology—such as DevOps, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), containers, and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) methods—let organizations create and manage these modular systems on an unprecedented scale that exceeds earlier approaches like service-oriented architecture (SOA). But organizations that refactor monolithic applications into microservices experience widely varying degrees of success. The key to using microservices effectively is a solid understanding of how and why organizations should use microservices to build applications
Trend Micro resolved the following issues by purchasing Zoom:
• Overly complex or difficult communications platforms
• Expensive hardware or software systems
• Unreliable or poor service quality
• Using too many different solutions
• Difficulties connecting remote teams or sites
• The need for a more efficient/effective way to reach customers and other external parties

Most people define mobile devices – smartphones and tablets – as those
running a mobile-optimized operating system (e.g. iOS, Android, Windows
Phone). There’s a trend emerging, however, in which traditional mobile
devices are gaining functionality typically associated with PCs.
At the same time, PCs are being architected more like mobile devices — an
interbreeding of species, if you will. The iPad Pro, for example, has a
keyboard. With Windows 10, phones and tablets can run “Universal” apps
that also run on PCs. Windows 10 also has application-layer sandboxing,
code-signing, and an app store with apps pre-vetted by Microsoft. In
certain configurations (i.e. enterprise-managed devices), a laptop running
Windows 10 has a security architecture that looks strikingly similar to a
smartphone or tablet.
In a new video, security analyst Rich Mogull discusses mobile data protection topics and addresses many issues, including, the latest trends in mobile security, mobile device management, and mobile data protection.
The Consumerisation of Enterprise Mobility: A Formidable Challenge for CIOs, but a great opportunity. Download the Trend Micro Enterprise Security Whitepaper: The Consumerisation of Enterprise Mobility to learn the secrets to data protection on mobile devices.
This whitepaper will explore the anatomy of targeted attacks: the inner workings of the APT lifecycle. It will also provide an in-depth overview of Trend Micro Deep Discovery advanced threat protection solution, and how it enables enterprise IT to adopt a custom defense strategy that modernizes its risk management program to defend against targeted attacks. Deep Discovery is at the heart of the Trend Micro Custom Defense solution against targeted attacks.
Despite increased awareness and focus on defending against targeted attacks from both business and security leaders, organizations continue to be breached and suffer the consequences. Many of today’s security investments are simply not aligned to defend against these targeted threat vectors. Advanced threat detection and response should not be a point solution but rather a combination of technologies and core competencies. Detecting and responding to advanced threats should involve tight integration of multiple security technologies, network analysis and visibility (NAV) tools, the ability to automatically generate content such as security rules and signatures, context on attacker history, and overall customization and flexibility to ensure that the solution is fine-tuned for your specific IT environment.

When Facebook released their bot feature, M, the virtual assistant living inside their Messenger platform, it was billed as the next generation of how people connect and interact with the internet. Since then, over 18,000 companies have created their own branded chatbots with the help of Facebook’s platform.
Never ones to miss out on a trend, Microsoft, Google and Apple have all been hard at work developing their own integrated chatbot features. Brands of all shapes and sizes, from American Express to 1800-Flowers to Domino’s Pizza, all have their own chatbots, proving the versatility of the concept. As Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said at the 2016 Build conference, “As an industry, we are on the cusp of a new frontier that pairs the power of natural human language with advanced machine intelligence.”

Skills and resources — these are the two elements that make up an attacker’s arsenal. An attacker, however, cannot set out to break security or even perform sophisticated attacks without finding weak points in a system first. Massive malware attacks, email-borne heists, hacked devices, and disrupted services — all of these require a vulnerability in the network, whether in the form of technology or people, in order to be pulled off.
Trend Micro has looked into the current and emerging threats, as well as the security approaches tailored for the landscape. Read on to find out how to make informed decisions with regard to the security focus areas that will figure prominently in 2018.
