Cloud is the new computer, and hybrid cloud is the new IT platform. According to a number of recent surveys, including RightScale’s State of the Cloud Report, enterprises see hybrid cloud as their ideal IT platform across business use cases like digital transformation, IoT, and big data-led research and business insight. These surveys show that the number of enterprises making the transition to hybrid cloud is on the rise, up from 75% in 2015 to 82% in 2016
Juniper Networks hybrid cloud architecture enables enterprises to build secure, high performance environments across private and public cloud data centers. The easy-tomanage, scalable architecture keeps operational costs down, allowing users to do more with fewer resources. Security is optimized by the space-efficient Juniper Networks® SRX Series Services Gateways, which are next-generation firewalls (NGFWs) with fully integrated, cloud-informed threat intelligence that offers outstanding performance, scalability, and integrated security services. Designed for high-performance security environments and seamless integration of networking, along with advanced malware detection with Juniper Sky™ Advanced Threat Prevention (ATP), application visibility and control, and intrusion prevention on a single platform, the SRX Series firewalls are best suited for enterprise hybrid cloud deployments.
In reality, many applications are far from cloud ready, and some never will be. But almost every new application will be cloud enabled. So how do you evolve your data center into a private cloud and drive hybrid IT by connecting to public clouds, yet still cater for the needs of your legacy software? To try and understand the path to the cloud in greater detail, we’ve created this Infobrief from an extended interview conducted by the team at DatacenterDynamics with Juniper Networks’ Andy Ingram, the Global Vice President for Data Center and Cloud.
The role of IT is changing from a traditional focus on cost-efficient enablement to a more strategic contribution. Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), while important, is being surpassed by a growing focus on automation and orchestration that is needed to fulfill enterprise demands for security, agility, and innovation. The cloud-grade enterprise network – spanning the campus, data center, and branch – must be able to respond to rapid changes in business, growing reliance on hybrid cloud architectures, and the needs of users and customers. This IP Networking Comparison Guide examines the four key areas driving enterprise network priorities and looks at key factors within each. This document will give you a clear perspective on how the various options stack up on the most important features and capabilities necessary to meet your transformation needs.
IT organizations are no longer just a business support
function and cost center—they are expected to drive
business as part of the core corporate strategy. Adding
to this, IT landscapes continue to increase in complexity,
complicating management and innovation.
Digital transformation helps IT adapt to these changes.
Building a hybrid or multi-cloud IT environment can help
you transform successfully. An effective cloud environment
• Improved infrastructure management and flexibility
• More time for IT to focus on strategic projects rather
than manage data centers.
• Better IT cost management
In fact, 49% of companies cite “modernized IT infrastructure and technologies with increased agility, flexibility,

Application performance and delivery have changed.
Should your network change too?
Cloud is changing the fundamentals of how IT teams deliver applications
and manage their performance. Applications are increasingly deployed
farther from users, crossing networks outside of IT’s direct control. Instead
of enterprise data centers, many apps now reside in public and hybrid cloud
environments. There are even new breeds of applications, built upon
microservices and containers.
Today, IT needs modern solutions that:
? Extend on-premises networks, apps, and infrastructure resources
to the cloud.
? Maintain high levels of performance, user experience, and security
across all applications, including microservices based apps.
? Sustain operational consistency across on-premises and
? Move away from the expense, complexity, and poor performance
of traditional networking methods.
These solutions are available for apps running on Google Cloud Platform

If your company operates in the cloud, you’ve probably thought about investing in a Cloud Management Platform (CMP) — a group of integrated products that manage public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. That combination is what AHEAD calls an Enterprise Cloud. For an enterprise with a heavy private cloud emphasis, the right CMP can transform your VM provisioning, reducing a potentially weeks-long manual process to an automated one that finishes in a matter of minutes. And if you run one or more public clouds, the right CMP can help you take better control of your cloud services, manage your cloud spending, and architect your app platforms to run seamlessly in the cloud.
So Which CMP Will Work Best For You?
The first thing to consider is compatibility with your existing environment. For many enterprises, that’s going to put a premium on CMPs that integrate natively with VMware. For other businesses, compatibility with ServiceNow or support for multiple private and public clouds wi

Despite the clear opportunity for more effective deployment of IT capability and more efficient IT management offered by cloud, most midmarket workloads are still hosted and managed on site. There is a clear trend towards greater use of managed services, and clear business benefit to embracing this hybrid IT model. The question isn’t really “will we move our midmarket business to cloud/hybrid infrastructure?” but rather, “how quickly will we effect this transition, and how will we prioritize workloads and capabilities along the way?”

continuous innovation across any application, anywhere.
The container revolution is under way today as companies seek to move faster and build digital assets
to support growth. IDC forecasts that there will be over 1.8 billion enterprise container instances
deployed by 2021. Container platforms will be key to managing the ever-expanding diversity of
IT environments (multiple operating systems, hypervisors, private clouds, and public clouds).
While containers are the perfect vehicle to underpin cloud-native, microservices applications,
containers are also well suited to many existing applications. These applications can reap immediate
benefits from being modernized and prepare for possible refactoring over time. To successfully
leverage containers in these diverse scenarios and do it at scale, enterprises will need a robust,
integrated, and holistic container platform.
Docker containers exploded onto the scene in 2013 as a better way to develop
software and has quickly become part of the enterprise infrastructure. Organizations
often start by containerizing applications -- either components of a monolithic
application or new distributed applications. But containerization itself isn’t enough
to become more innovative. It requires changing processes, culture and the overall
organizational mindset. That makes a container platform essential to success.
In this paper, we will discuss what a container platform
is and why it’s a critical part of any effort to drive
change and innovation in the digital economy.
