DDoS attacks have long been known as the main form of cyber attack risk. “The Financial Inspection Manual” revised by the Japanese government’s Financial Services Agency in April 2015, identifies the risk of "DDoS attacks", and the need to take countermeasures is strongly emphasized. Other government agencies also acknowledge the frequency and severity of DDoS attacks. However, a clear method to completely prevent DDoS attacks has not been established yet. Why is that? What are the best measures that companies can take at the present time?

In any enterprise there is information that has to be kept secret, but must be distributed, and therefore has to be identified with any recipient in the event that it is ‘leaked.’  This white paper addresses two examples of this requirement (boardroom secrets and mergers and acquisitions), and shows how to identify solutions that meet business needs for document protection and secure file sharing.

The relationship between an organization's information-handling practices and the impact those practices have on its ability to respond to electronic discovery is recognized in the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM). But the EDRM falls short of describing standards or best practices that can be applied to the complex issues surrounding the creation, management, and governance of electronic information. ARMA International's Generally Accepted Record-keeping Principles and its information Governance Maturity Model are designed specifically to provide a scalable, broadly applicable framework to address these issues.

Data is the backbone of every organization. No matter the business, industry, or size, reliable data access is essential to operations. Should a "worst-case scenario" occur, being prepared with an appropriate disaster recovery strategy is essential. Given the potential high cost associated with data loss, reliable data protection is no longer an option; rather, it is an obligation. This white paper discusses a data protection strategy that takes into consideration the business environment, offering sophisticated features while maintaining simplicity, affordability, and reliability.

The management of financial data in an organization is of paramount importance. Reporting, evaluating ROI, making adjustments across the business, and increasing revenue depend on good, accessible financial data that can be updated and integrated across systems and software. For these reasons, many organizations have turned to master data management (MDM) software in the effort to better store, access, search, retrieve, and analyze their financial data. These MDM solutions are able to collect data within a single unified, fully integrated, user-friendly platform. However, in order to be most effective, MDM applications must also have capabilities in data relationship management (DRM). DRM software is able to describe and enforce the relationships between data, no matter where it's located within an organization, to provide a holistic and consistent solution.

“One of the most popular MDM solution is Oracle Hyperion Data Relationship Management. Oracle DRM is used to resolve the challenges across the people, processes, and tools that go into the tasks of data management. Although Oracle DRM is a powerful software, it nevertheless presents challenges for organizations seeking to integrate it with other Oracle applications such as PeopleSoft Financials – DRM is unable to automatically push updates made within its system to PeopleSoft. As a result, changes in DRM to cost centers, project centers, trees, and hierarchies must be manually updated in PeopleSoft Financials – a tedious process that can take hours every day. The good news is that these challenges can be easily addressed with the support of partners such as Datavail.
