This is an exciting time for the UK’s diverse automotive industry. We’re experiencing rapid growth with many of the world’s leading manufacturers – including the BMW Group, Ford, Jaguar Land Rover, Nissan and Toyota – recognising the business case for investing here. The UK offers one of the lowest labour costs in western Europe, a competitive corporation tax (set to fall to just 17% by 2020) and regulations that support innovation and expansion. Meanwhile, the UK’s geographic location and strong supply and distribution infrastructure makes us a gateway to a customer base throughout Europe and beyond.

Longi Engineering, a leading Microsoft SharePoint partner, was engaged to assist a leading Performing Arts Center in implementing an organizational SharePoint intranet to allow them to increase employee collaboration, automate previously manual processes and collaborate more effectively. The organization faced numerous challenges such as document management, legal contract workflow, records retention and labor intensive/error prone manual processes.
Longi Engineering was engaged to assist a Community Action non-profit in implementing SharePoint to fulfill several organizational requirements they had as well as resolve multiple challenges they faced. Manual paper processes were hindering the organization from being able to efficiently focus on their goal of providing services and strengthening the community to improve the quality of life for residents in their County.
Longi Engineering was engaged to assist a Private Equity Firm in implementing a SharePoint deal management system as an additional component to their existing on premise SharePoint server solution. The organization faced multiple challenges in that they did not possess an efficient technology solution that allowed them to manage their deals and associated history. One of the organization’s goals was to create a centralized, easily accessible dashboard interface from which they could rapidly determine the status of a deal as well as manage their deals. Their deal lifecycle had multiple stages depending on whether a deal was New, in a diligence phase, on Hold or Dead.
SharePoint is a technology that most organizations have access to these days, yet it is one that is open not utilized fully. This is in part due to organizations not being fully aware of the breadth of SharePoint’s capabilities. Most SharePoint power users/administrators are aware they can leverage SharePoint as a document repository and to share data seamlessly with a group of colleagues, however, they often are not aware of how to leverage some of SharePoint’s key foundational components effectively. As someone who implements SharePoint, one of the biggest complaints we hear from organizations is users aren’t using it, adoption is low. Without user adoption no technology implementation project can be successful. It is difficult to pinpoint one reason that causes adoption to be low, however, taking steps to effectively build your SharePoint site with a solid foundation along with an end goal of high user adoption is a great way to start.
For increasing numbers of organizations, the new reality for development, deployment and delivery of applications and services is hybrid cloud. Few, if any, organizations are going to move all their strategic workloads to the cloud, but virtually every enterprise is embracing cloud for a wide variety of requirements.
To accelerate innovation, improve the IT delivery economic model and reduce risk, organizations need to combine data and experience in a cognitive model that yields deeper and more meaningful insights for smarter decisionmaking. Whether the user needs a data set maintained in house for customer analytics or access to a cloud-based data store for assessing marketing program results — or any other business need — a high-performance, highly available, mixed-load database platform is required.
In this webinar Black Duck Software (www.blackducksoftware.com), together with representatives of SAP, will review the benefits open source offers to development organizations, the management challenges it presents, and approaches for addressing those challenges.
"Agile" software development is an increasingly popular development process for producing software in a flexible and iterative manner that can deliver value to the enterprise faster, reduce project risk and allow adaptation to changes more quickly.
This paper is for IT development executives looking to gain control of open source software as part of a multi-source development process. You can gain significant management control over open source software use in your development organization. Today, many IT executives, enterprise architects, and development managers in leading companies have gained management control over the externally-sourced software used by their application development groups. Download this free paper to discover how.
In this paper, you'll learn how organizations are adopting increasingly sophisticated analytics methods, that analytics usage trends are placing new demands on rigid data warehouses, and what's needed is hybrid data warehouse architecture that supports all deployment models.

Despite all your planning, the release made it to market with some significant bugs, and your company has had to run damage
control. Now you’re getting questions about what went wrong, and before you know it, the blame game is in full force, with your
developers and testers pointing fingers at one another.
So what happened? Whose fault was it really? And what can you do better next time? The truth of the matter is, at a time when
the stakes for software development are higher than ever (and only continuing to rise), the blame game simply isn’t going to cut
it. And if you’re operating in a true DevOps environment, the finger pointing should never even happen in the first place.

In a case of “if you can’t measure it, you can’t manage it,”
some software project failures occur because of a lack of
traceability — that is, an incomplete record of
documentation around software quality assurance efforts.
The lack of traceability has a significant impact on QA
testing effectiveness and meeting strategic goals. However,
with optimal traceability, testing becomes more efficient
and enables collaboration throughout the software
development lifecycle, as well as between product owners
and organization leaders.
In reality, many applications are far from cloud ready, and some never will be. But almost every new application will be cloud enabled. So how do you evolve your data center into a private cloud and drive hybrid IT by connecting to public clouds, yet still cater for the needs of your legacy software? To try and understand the path to the cloud in greater detail, we’ve created this Infobrief from an extended interview conducted by the team at DatacenterDynamics with Juniper Networks’ Andy Ingram, the Global Vice President for Data Center and Cloud.
We’re at a tipping point for customer service operations. Customers contact enterprises at a greater rate over a greater number of channels — shifting between them seamlessly and even using channels simultaneously. Enterprises react by adding headcount — an unsustainable strategy. You must transform operations by developing strength in automation, AI, and knowledge. This report reveals the top 10 customer service trends in 2018 for application development and delivery (AD&D) pros supporting customer service.
As enterprises work to replicate the development agility of internet companies and innovate in highly competitive markets, application development has grown increasingly complex. The large, monolithic codebases that traditionally power enterprise applications make it difficult to quickly launch new services. Siloed and potentially distributed development and operations teams present organizational alignment problems. On top of this, users are more demanding than ever – enterprises need to scale effectively and monitor deployments to ensure customers are provided with high performance and a consistent experience. Of course, all this needs to be done while providing always-on service availability.

“Today’s shoppers expect more than a transactional relationship with retailers; they want a seamless and personalized journey that reflects the context of how they shop across devices and channels. The key to success lies in connecting in-store software with online systems so retailers can provide an uninterrupted experience wherever customers shop.” - Ross Mason, Founder of MuleSoft
Driving digital transformation in retail requires connectivity across an ever-increasing number of applications, data and devices. Because of this, connectivity has emerged as a bottleneck that slows the development of new applications and the adoption of new technologies to meet customer demands.
In response, leading retail and CPG companies have adopted API-led connectivity, which eliminates this connectivity bottleneck and enables a 2-5x faster IT project delivery across the value chain.

Recommendations to Discuss with Your Development Team and Technology Partners.
When buying products online, shoppers have to put their trust into eCommerce stores. They have to trust that their information won't be stolen, that the order will go through and that it will be shipped on-time, to the correct location. When a site is slow, not only does it frustrate online shoppers, it takes away the legitimacy of the site and their trust in it.
Poor site performance can cost you sales, revenue, customers, and even a high ranking on search engines.
