Despite the fact that many economic indicators remain in the doldrums, Research Brief adoption of enterprise mobility appears unstoppable. a 25% increase in employee retention. These are benefits that no company wants to do without. The organizational agility, flexibility, and responsiveness enabled by enterprise mobility have become competitive necessities in today's global marketplace. During this same time period, the number of mobile device platforms has proliferated. Initially the 'standard' enterprise mobile platforms included RIM's BlackBerry®, Microsoft's Windows Mobile®, and Symbian Foundation's Symbian® OS. Now there is also growing momentum behind Apple's iPhone®, Google's Android®, and Palm's WebOS® (Figure 2).
